Group calls meeting to prevent any further potential sale of Elliot Lake golf course
City committee wants course declared as surplus
March 7, 2022 By Turf & Rec

A March 8 meeting in Elliot Lake, Ont. is being organized by a local volunteer in hopes of ensuring the city makes no further plans to sell the municipal Stone Ridge Golf Course. The city’s economic development committee last week asked the city to declare the golf course as surplus and requested an appraisal for a potential sale. Council will address the recommendation at its meeting on March 14. The city opted last month not to sell the course to a private investor following a public outcry against any sale.
