
You'd think gardening, by its very essence, would be a "green" activity. And it is — sort of.
It turns out all of that mowing, watering and weed-killing packs some pretty major environmental consequences, too.
One thing many Calgarians don't realize is that the water that washes off your yard and down storm drains isn't treated before it goes back into the river (hence the restrictions on washing cars with soap in driveways).
