Aug. 13, 2018 – A Kitchener, Ont. couple who have invested thousands of dollars on natural plants to attract bees and other wildlife to their front yard boulevard have become embroiled in a battle with the municipality. The city wants the couple to cut down the plants' height to comply with a local bylaw, but that could mean denying the bees the flowers they need.
Aug. 9. 2018 – The future of local baseball could be in jeopardy in Bradford West Gwillimbury, Ont. if plans for a $75-million community centre proceed, a couple of municipal councillors suggest. They say that two existing baseball diamonds will have to yield to construction of the community centre.

The project is in its final design stages, but is being met with opposition from neighbouring residents who believe the area's true heritage is at risk.
June 15, 2018 – An original plan to remove 19 trees from historic Officers' Square in Fredericton to make way for new development has been downsized to accommodate the removal of only five, but the compromise still leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of those wanting to save every tree. Council's decision yesterday to remove the five trees was met with a chorus of boos from members of the public.
