Ages of Officers’ Square elm trees being determined

June 4, 2018 – While plans to remove 19 trees from Officers’ Square in Fredericton have been put on hold, an investigation is underway to determine the age of the mature elm trees. Activists seeking to save the trees from removal to make way for new development are arguing the trees’ age classify them as having historic importance.
