GolfNorth acquires its first Prairies-based golf property
Wolf Creek Golf Resort features two Rod Whitman-designed courses
March 7, 2023 By Turf & Rec

Ontario-based GolfNorth had added an Alberta golf property to its stable of golf courses. Wolf Creek Golf Resort in Ponoka acquired the property which houses two golf courses designed by Rod Whitman.
Wolf Creek entered into receivership last fall after experiencing financial difficulties.
The Old opened in 1987 and is known for its contoured greens, pot bunkers and railway ties. The Links’ front nine opened in 1992 while the back nine was added in 2012. The course features an older style design on the front nine and a more modern look on the back.
Both Wolf Creek courses have fared among Canada’s top 100 public courses as ranked by Beyond the Contour. The Old course was ranked in the 19th position while the Links checked in at No. 13.
GolfNorth is based in Conestogo and operates almost 40 golf courses in Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Alberta. Wolf Creek is the company’s first property in the Prairies.
