Golf season likely to start a few weeks later than it did in 2021 in Kitchener-Waterloo region
Snow still to melt, ground yet to thaw
March 14, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Golf season in the Kitchener-Waterloo region is apt to begin later than it did in 2021. With another recent snow event and the ground yet to thaw, golfers are likely going to have to wait until early April before they can tee it up for the 2022 season, says the hospitality manager at the Conestoga Golf & Country Club. The golf course opened last year about March 19, but there is still plenty of snow that needs to melt. Aside from the ground needing to thaw, golf courses along the Grand River corridor have to watch for potential spring flooding.
