Goats keeping Regina green spaces weed free without pesticides, emissions or noise
Border collie team keeping operation in check
June 3, 2022 By Turf & Rec

An emissions, pesticide and noise-free solution to keep weeds under control in some Regina green spaces is being adopted. A herd of 60 goats has been let loose at Wascana Hill near the Goose Island Overlook to feast on weeds. The pesticide-free solution is aimed at re-naturalizing green spaces and reintroducing native prairie species. The goats are kept in check by a team of border collies which also stand guard against potential predators.
