Aggressive chemical applied to turf
June 14, 2022 By Turf & Rec
The City of Estevan, Sask. has been battling a case of foxtail weed at Padwick Park in recent years, with turf being choked out by the invasive weed and leaving it brown in the spring. An aggressive chemical that poses no threat to human health has been applied in an attempt to kill the weed and its seeds and has allowed grass to rebound in some areas. If the park’s turf fails to recover in the coming weeks, the city will look at alternative measures.
