Fort McMurray council approves Rotary Club funding request to finish golf course
Opposing councillor concerned $2.7-million request is steep during financial crisis

Local council in Fort McMurray has approved a $2.7-million funding request by the city’s Rotary Club so that the final nine holes of the Rotary Links golf course can be completed. The council member who cast the lone opposing vote said she was concerned about the timing of the large funding request during a financial crisis.
