Football community calls for upgrades to high school playing field, citing lack of infrastructure
Parents, alumni want artificial turf field
October 4, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Parents and alumni of Newmarket, Ont.’s Huron Heights Warriors football team are calling on the local school board to make changes at the high school field for the betterment of the community and players. Those advocating change say the field lacks the proper infrastructure for spectators and suggest the team should play on artificial turf – as other area teams do – to ensure late-season snow doesn’t negatively impact field conditions.
