Federal funding allows for improvements to Uxbridge, Ont. sports park
New lighting, parking for baseball field
September 2, 2022 By Turf & Rec
An influx of $500,000 in federal funding has allowed an Uxbridge, Ont. sports park to install lighting and parking to support a new baseball diamond on the property.
Officials recently toured the Fields of Uxbridge site where funding from the federal government’s Tourism Relief Fund grant was put to work. The parking lot accommodates 100 vehicles while the lighting permits the park’s sports facilities to be used longer into the season with better chances of attracting tournaments.
The grant money has also helped the new diamond with wooden fence installation.
Officials touring the park said the improvements will create better access to the park.
