Parliament Hill’s historic elm’s fate expected April 2

April 1, 2019 – A lone elm tree situated on the east side of Centre Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa is expected to have its fate decided tomorrow during a meeting of Parliament’s procedure and house affairs committee. The tree, which has been at the site for at least 100 years, may be removed to make way for an expanded Parliament Hill visitors’ centre.
