Essential landscaping work important in Niagara to keep tick numbers under control
Mowing and spraying for weeds is permitted amid COVID-19 pandemic

Essential lawn maintenance services such as mowing and herbicide applications are permitted in the Niagara Region during the COVID-19 pandemic as a means to keep tick populations at bay. “Cutting grass in parks and sports fields allows the city to control weeds, overgrowth and ticks and to bring those fields back as quickly as possible when we return to a new normal,” St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik said.
