Escaped pigs startle golfers on Vancouver Island course, cause some turf damage
Pigs mistaken for wild boars

Golfers recently playing Duncan, B.C.’s Cowichan Golf Club were in for a surprise when they were confronted by a pair of pigs that had escaped from a nearby farm. The animals were suspected to be wild boars at first, but they weren’t aggressive toward the golfers and were simply looking for food. Although they damaged some of the turf while digging for food, none of the greens was harmed.
