Kohler Co. has agreed to pay a $20-million penalty to resolve allegations that emissions from its small spark-ignition were in violation of the Clean Air Act. Small, spark-ignition engines are used in lawn mowers, ride-on mowers, commercial landscaping equipment and generators.
