Emerald ash borer infestation in Halifax area worse than originally believed
More trees expected to fail within next couple years

The infestation by the emerald ash borer in the Halifax area is worse than originally believed. It was originally thought the ash tree-destroying insect was present in only two areas of Bedford, but it has since been determined it has moved throughout the community. The municipality’s superintendent of urban forestry said a greater number of trees will begin to fail within the next couple of years.
