Elderly Toronto man, who feels ‘bullied’ over his artificial turf lawn, not backing down in his dispute with city
Resident has limited mobility to care for natural lawn after having suffered a stroke

The dispute between the City of Toronto and an elderly resident over his refusal to remove his artificial turf lawn may need to be settled in court. The North York man, who is in his 80s, has limited mobility after having suffered a stroke and is unable to personally care for a natural lawn. The city is “bullying” him, he says. At least one city councillor has sided with the man, noting the municipality contradicted itself when a bylaw officer gave his approval in writing for the artificial turf, only to be overturned later.
