Caterpillars are defoliating trees in days

An oak tree in eastern Canada was stripped of its foliage by gypsy moth caterpillars in just a matter of days.

Local and provincial governments are being called upon to help control an invasion of gypsy moth caterpillars in eastern Ontario. The insects can completely defoliate a tree in no time, causing extensive damage in the long term. One homeowner has said no one within the local and provincial government with whom he had spoken said a problem existed.
