Early snow brings about early turf gouging along sidewalks

Night plowing and lack of geographic knowledge of area largely blamed for damage

The grass-gouging season on the boulevards and lawns adjacent to Toronto sidewalks got off to an early start this year with the unexpected early November snowfall. The turning up of turfgrass next to sidewalks often occurs at night when visibility is limited and because plow operators aren’t familiar with the local geography.
