Damage to the artificial turf cricket pitch at Gordon Chaplin Park in Cambridge, Ont., deliberately sliced apart in mid-July, may have been racially motivated, one of the Kitchener Wolves Cricket Club players says. Andrew Terry said there have been several incidents of late with neighbouring residents who have complained about balls hitting fences and asking why so much park space is needed to play the games. Another resident walks his dog through the park, forcing games to be interrupted. Estimates to repair the pitch are tagged between $10,000 and $15,000.
