Deadline to apply to assistant supers’ Green Start Academy approaching quickly

The deadline for applications for the John Deere and Bayer-sponsored Green Start Academy is Monday, Aug. 31. The event brings together the best and brightest assistant golf superintendents from Canada and the United States. This year’s event, however, is adopting a virtual format due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

It has been announced that the following “mentors” will be participating this year:

• Grant Murphy, Barrie Country Club
• Carlos Arraya, Bellerive Country Club
• Bob Farren, Pinehurst Resort
• Dan Meersman, Philadelphia Cricket Club
• PJ Salter, Riveria Country Club
• Lukus Harvey, Atlanta Athletic Club
