Cricket field’s conditions force tournament to be relocated to another municipality

Poor field conditions have forced a large cricket tournament to relocate from Barrie, Ont. to nearby Bradford.

BarrieToday reports the cricket pitch at Maitland Park has failed to meet the expectations of other cricket clubs. The August event will now be played at Bradford’s Magani Park.

Barrie’s lone cricket pitch shares its space with a baseball field. A tournament official told BarrieToday that the change in venue stresses the need for Barrie to have a dedicated cricket field.
