Craigowan fundraiser to help with new maintenance building

May 28, 2013  By  Mike Jiggens

Craigowan Golf & Country Club in Woodstock, Ont. is holding a fundraising tournament on Saturday, June 8 at 1 p.m. to help raise money for its capital building and improvement fund. At the top of the list is a new maintenance facility.

"Anyone who has been to my shop will know that it has been ready for the flaming arrow pretty much since it was built," superintendent Jerry Richard said.

Engineered plans have been drawn up and studies complete with costing and budgetary phases currently underway.

General manager Adam Hagen has asked his staff to try and round up golfers for the tournament or solicit donations for the silent auction table. He is asking other general managers for foursome guest packages at their courses. Richard is donating a free lawn aeration with the use of Craigowan's own course aerators.

"The event is for fun only with a live band, fantastic food, and make up your own foursome," Richard said, adding he would appreciate any contributions or ideas.

Richard can be contacted at (519) 462-2910 or at jerry@craigowan.com .
