COVID-19 cutbacks scuttled Sarnia’s plans for Communities in Bloom return
City was 2018 runner-up in Circle of Champions

Sarnia, Ont. – runner-up in the 2018 Communities in Bloom Circle of Champions competition – was all set to leap back into the national urban beautification program this year after sitting out the 2019 competition. But with the city not hiring seasonal workers this year to save money amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it was deemed there wasn’t much to show off in terms of beautification.
