Council narrowly approves sports dome construction projects amid controversy
Location is inconvenient, many are saying

A controversial proposal to build two new domed sports facilities in Stouffville, Ont. has been green-lighted following a narrow 4-3 vote of council. One of the domes is to house a FIFA-sized soccer field within a 125,000-square-foot air-supported structure while a 50,000-square-foot is being designed for court sports. Some councillors and several residents believe the proposed site is inconveniently located for most people and was approved with little or no public input.
