Council backs re-designation bylaw to allow development at former Royal York golf course

Nine-hole course will shrink in size

City council in Armstrong, B.C. has passed its third reading of a re-designation bylaw that will reduce the size of the former Royal York Golf Course to allow for 141 housing units. The nine-hole course property is now called the Overlander Golf and Events Centre. Council voted 6-1 to proceed with the third reading. The proposal to reduce the size of the golf course in order to accommodate additional housing had been a controversial topic in the community.
