Work is continuing on a baseball field in New Waterford, N.S. that sits atop a former coal mine. The diamond was built atop the No. 16 mine, which ceased operations in 1963. The property is owned by the federal government, but will be transferred upon completion to the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
