Completion of Salmon Arm artificial turf field delayed by geotechnical concerns

Geotechnical concerns have caused the delay of a new Salmon Arm, B.C. artificial turf field which won’t be completed now until the spring of 2025.

Castanet reports the existing material at the field site at Blackburn Park doesn’t fit the installation specifications for the artificial field.

Organic materials were mixed in with the fill. It was feared the organics might break down and create holes.
