Community association rallies to save 160-year-old maple from destruction
Developer wants tree gone for new home

A maple tree believed to be more than 160 years old and situated in Toronto’s west end is in jeopardy of being cut down to make way for a larger home on the existing property. The threat of its destruction has prompted the Long Branch Community Association to take action to save it. The tree has been described as “large, healthy and historic.”
