Colder, snowier spring delays start to landscaping season in Medicine Hat

Landscape contractors in Medicine Hat, Alta. are experiencing a delayed start to the 2023 season, having to deal with colder-than-normal temperatures.

Area landscapers noted work got underway last year in late March, but a colder spring this year rendered the soil unworkable during the early weeks of April.

Contractors are playing catch-up now that temperatures have become more favourable. Regardless of the weather, they suggest plantings will occur later in May when the weather is more consistent.

This spring has seen more snow than usual in the area.
