Chip your Christmas trees to make nutrient-rich soil enhancer
December 13, 2017 By Mike Jiggens
Residents of British Columbia’s Central Okanagan region are being urged to chip their natural Christmas trees rather than dispose of them after the holidays. “Your tree will then be chipped down and composted into a nutrient-rich soil enhancer called GlenGrow,” Kelowna’s waste reduction facilitator says. “It’s perfect for topdressing your lawn, landscaping, mixing in your vegetable garden and is available at various locations around the area including the Glenmore landfill in the spring.”
