Chestermere golf course shutting down after nearly 30 years of operation

Financial hardships to blame for closure

Lakeside Golf Club in Chestermere, Alta. is shutting down after nearly three decades of operation under the same ownership. The club’s managing partners said the club had been in financial decline the past number of years and had struggled to remain open. Plans are to redevelop the property, pending the approval of the local council.
