October 29, 2020 By Turf & Rec
Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart charity is contributing more than $350,000 toward the completion of the Farrow Riverside Miracle Park project in Windsor
The application for Jumpstart funding was a joint venture between the city and the Riverside Minor Baseball Association. The park provides opportunities for youth with special needs. More than $2 million was raised by the baseball association while the city spent $1.5 million in upgrades to make the park more accessible.
Canadian Tire’s charitable contribution will help furnish a new pour-in-place rubber surface for the ball diamond as well as a new perimeter track, new bleachers and new dugouts.
The city plans to stage a grand opening of the completed park in the spring of 2021.
