A solution designed to drive nuisance Canada geese away from Manitoba’s Legislature has become a problem in itself. A sound system has been installed that emits bird of prey calls that, in theory, should chase the geese away, but the noises it’s making is threatening to drive park visitors away. People visiting Memorial Park say the noises are much too loud and are disrupting what should be a tranquil and relaxing visit. A bird expert says the system is bound to fail because the geese will simply adapt to it and ignore the sounds.
