Calgary gravel pit-turned-park wins highest honour from landscape architects society

Transformation of Klippert pit was multi-million-dollar project

A former gravel pit-turned-park in Calgary has become the recipient of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects’ highest award of honour. Dale Hodges Park, once the Klippert gravel pit, was recognized for its use of environmental landscape design. The transformation of pit to park was a multi-million-dollar project involving Calgary’s parks, water resources and public art departments.
