Calgary-area golf course marks its 90th anniversary; once played by King Edward
Course was built amid launch of oil industry

The Turner Valley Golf Club is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. The 18-hole course located just outside Calgary has enjoyed an interesting history. Among the notables to play the course was King Edward while Winston Churchill once paid a visit to the property. The course was originally built as a recreational escape for those who pioneered Alberta’s oil industry.
