Burnaby, B.C. is now officially pesticide-free

Cosmetic pesticide use in the City of Burnaby, B.C. has officially been banned.

The Lower Mainland municipality's ban went into effect April 1. The city plans to continue its ongoing education campaign to alert residents about alternative means to combat weeds and other pests without resorting to chemicals. A free workshop to promote pesticide-free lawn care will be help April 19, from 1-4 p.m., at the Canada Way Education Centre.
