Brief storm fells several trees and closes Saskatchewan municipal golf course

A Wednesday morning storm wreaked havoc in Prince Albert, Sask., forcing the closure of Cooke Municipal Golf Course “until further notice.”

Several trees on the golf course were knocked down during the storm and will require extensive cleanup. In spite of the damage, no one was injured.

During a period of less than 10 minutes, high winds and hail hit the area, causing trees to split and power lines to be knocked down. The storm also triggered a fire at a local high school.
