Biodiversity experts say No Mow May won’t save Vancouver Island’s fragile ecosystems

Growing more native plants is the better way, they suggest

Vancouver Island’s ecosystems won’t be saved by buying into the No Mow May campaign, local biodiversity experts say. They suggest that instead of pausing lawn mowing for a month, growing native plants to support local wildlife is the key. No Mow May is well intentioned, they add, but it’s an insufficient way of addressing the loss of native species.
