Former site littered with needles, trash

A temporary relocation of Campbell River, B.C.’s minor baseball program to another park could become a costly venture when its various “piecemeal” costs are added up. The program asked to be moved from Nunns Creek Park due to safety concerns stemming from discarded needles and other trash on the property. Relocating to Willow Point Park involves a series of upgrades, including lighting, which could approach $800,000. The city likely won’t fully sort out its long-term vision for minor baseball until it completes its parks and recreation master plan, which isn’t expected to happen until at least 2024.
