Vandal may have targeted it as a Christmas tree

A 20-foot-tall balsam fir tree growing at Guelph’s Arboretum was chopped down over the weekend, possibly by someone looking for a Christmas tree to decorate. The culprit “brutally hacked” the tree, discarding the middle section and keeping the upper part.
