Arrowdale Land Defenders conducting peaceful occupation, police say

The group of people who have occupied the closed Arrowdale Golf Course in Brantford since Oct. 9 are calling themselves the Arrowdale Land Defenders. Claiming the property is Indigenous land, the group plans to remain on site indefinitely while the city continues its plan to sell much of the land. Police have been monitoring the occupation, but say it’s been peaceful.
