Arborist trying to save N.B. and N.S. trees from Dutch elm disease
Vaccine used keep fungus from developing

A Sackville, N.B. arborist is trying to keep 35 elm trees from succumbing to Dutch elm disease by injecting a vaccine to prevent the fungus from developing. The targeted trees are located in southeastern New Brunswick and northern Nova Scotia. Dutch elm disease has wiped out entire elm populations since the 1980s.
