Allturf acquires Dol Turf Restoration

July 11, 2019 – Allturf Ltd. of Innisfil, Ont., a leading distributor of golf turf supplies, pesticides and fertilizers, has acquired Dol Turf Restoration of Bradford, Ont.

Dol Turf Restoration is a leading turf management and maintenance contractor, specializing in outsourced maintenance and repairs of athletic fields, commercial properties and golf course cultural sites.

“The key to this acquisition was the impeccable quality of work done by DTR and their unparalled reputation within the industry,” John Alpaugh, president of Allturf, said. “Gord Dol and Andrea Wallis have built a great business. We are pleased they will stay on for a transitional period and help us continue to maintain the relationships they have built through the trust and respect they have earned from their customers over the last 25 years.”

Gord Dol will continued to work as a sports field consultant and hopes the transition will give him and his wife Andrea more time to spend with their growing family.

“It is a difficult decision to sell something so close to your heart,” Dol said. “Selling to Allturf is a good fit. We are pleased with the way Allturf handled the transaction. I look forward to working with them. I am happy for our employees who will all stay on, and I feel good that our customers will continue to receive the same high quality service they have come to expect from Dol Turf Restoration.”

Stepping in as new general manager for DTR is Ken Pavely, who was in a management position with Dol several years ago and is familiar with the staff, customers and suppliers.

“Allturf is building a strong package of solutions to the turf industry,” Pavely, who is also president of Sports Turf Canada’s board of directors, said. “With their sister company – Rittenhouse – the purchase of Wray Mason’s company and now the addition of Dol Turf, they have excellent solutions to offer turf customers in golf, professional lawn care and sports fields. I have huge shoes to fill in following Gord Dol. But, with Allturf’s extensive support, I look forward to growing our business and even improving our offerings to existing customers. I am really looking forward to it.”
