Alberta golf superintendents ready to face record-breaking, late June heat wave
Turf will simply shut down during this period

As temperatures are soaring throughout Alberta, with record highs expected in some areas, golf course superintendents are ready to deal with what Mother Nature throws their way. John Faber, senior superintendent of operations for Calgary’s municipal courses, said the turf will just shut itself down during periods of heat and drought. Superintendents are asking golfers to be patient if they see staff hand watering greens, and not hit into them.
