Alberta golf course asks municipality for a better rate for its water usage
Free water not sought; just a 'fair rate'
January 27, 2023 By Turf & Rec

A southern Alberta golf course is asking local council for a fair rate for water utility uses, noting it’s a non-profit recreational club operated by a volunteer board. Crowsnest Pass Golf Club in Blairmore only began paying for its water about two years ago. Water costs came to about $120,000 last season, forcing the club to add a “water levy” to its membership and green fee rates. The club has stressed it’s not seeking free water, but rather a “fair rate.”
