A banner year for golf courses in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley
Kelowna course reports 30 per cent increase in play
November 2, 2020 By Turf & Rec
Golf courses in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley experienced a banner season in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. With few other options to pass the time away in a safe manner, many turned to golf.
The results were overwhelming. The Harvest Golf Course in Kelowna, for example, saw a 30 per cent increase in member play, according to PentictonInfoNews.ca. Many among the increase in golfers included those who have played the game sparingly in previous years and newcomers who took up golf only this year.
Most golf courses throughout Canada and the United States reported busy seasons.
