810cc engines now available for Scag’s Tiger Cat, Patriot mowers

March 22, 2021  By Briggs & Stratton

Vanguard offers the Vanguard 28.0 Gross HP* 810cc EFI engine and Vanguard 26.0 Gross HP* 810cc engine as power options on the Scag Tiger Cat and Patriot zero-turn riding mowers, respectively. This increases the Vanguard power offerings currently available on the Tiger Cat, and is the first Vanguard engine – and highest horsepower offering – available on the Patriot.

“We’re excited to add the robust Vanguard 810cc engines as power options on two of our most well-known zero-turn riding mowers,” Dennis Opalacz, Scag director of sales, said. “With these new power options, Scag customers can pair a high-performing engine with a high-quality mower.”

The Vanguard 28.0 Gross HP* 810cc V-Twin Vertical Shaft Engine with EFI provides the Scag Tiger Cat easy starting, smooth performance and consistent power in any environment. The Vanguard 26.0 Gross HP* 810cc V-Twin Vertical Shaft Engine becomes the most powerful engine available on the Scag Patriot for increased productivity. Both engines are designed with Advanced Debris Management to keep the engine clean and cool for enhanced durability and performance.

“The Vanguard 810cc engines are field-proven and designed to deliver reliable, powerful productivity for a superior cut every time,” Christine Davison, senior marketing manager, commercial power, Briggs & Stratton, said. “We’re excited to give Scag customers more opportunities to choose Vanguard power.”
