Witnesses say seal appeared to be struggling
February 1, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Canadian golf courses not only provide a playground for golf enthusiasts, they serve as an important habitat for various species of wildlife. But, seals? Animal Control Services was summoned to the Gorge Vale Golf Course in Victoria, B.C. on Sunday after a 250-pound elephant seal was found near the first hole at the golf course. Witnesses said the seal appeared to be struggling as it moved toward the second hole. An animal control officer suspects the seal was the same animal that had been rescued twice the previous week at a nearby park.
